Arpan

Aspiring mechanical engineer. Football fanatic. Future entrepreneur.

I love mechanical engineering - the possibilities are endless. I want to create a start-up that helps lifeguards rescue people faster using global positioning system technology. I enjoy Sydney because of the active lifestyle, good weather and sense of community. Football (or soccer as Australian’s call it) is my favourite sport – I play as a left-midfielder and support FC Barcelona. Forca Barca!

Dimple

Future paediatric doctor. Good vegetarian cook. Bhangra dancer.

I’m studying medical science and looking forward to becoming a paediatric doctor. I love caring for children! Outside of studies, I enjoy cooking my home dishes, especially chickpea curry. I dance Bhangra for fun – it’s a folk dance style. Living in Australia has allowed me to experience life in a new way. It’s been easy to make friends and I love the cultural diversity.

Tehsin

Future intensive care nurse. Henna artist. Multicultural ambassador.

My life’s ambition is to help others and serve the community, so I’m embracing the opportunity to undertake nursing placements in hospitals across Sydney. I love socialising and networking to make friends and share my Indian heritage with others through henna art. I always challenge myself and once hiked 10km of the Great North Walk just outside of Sydney without any special assistance! Sometimes pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can help you discover your true potential.

Arijit

Future mechanical engineer. Swimmer. Table tennis champion.

I participate in many sports including swimming, boxing and table tennis. I enjoy my engineering course because it’s very practical and hands-on - it feels like an internship. I’ve built a wind-powered vehicle and my biggest accomplishment in Sydney was building a huge new friendship network. I can’t wait to accelerate my career as a mechanical engineer for a luxury car brand.

Jhanvi

Future graphic designer. Motorcyclist. Hindi fan fiction writer.

Since high school I’ve discovered the thrill of riding a motorbike and enjoy this activity with friends. I love graphic design and can do this within my course and for leisure. I create t-shirts for the student groups I participate in. I also enjoy reading books, and I’m a fan fiction writer for a Hindi mystery-thriller series.
